ライフリング銃身のねじれ溝

Definition

銃身の内側に刻まれた螺旋状の溝で、発射時に弾丸を回転させて命中精度を高める仕組みのこと。

『ライフリング』は銃の専門用語で、主に銃身について使われます。日常会話ではほとんど使いません。「rifling through」とは意味が異なりますので注意しましょう。
