Definition

棟木は屋根の一番高い部分を水平に通る、屋根を支える主要な木材です。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に建築や伝統的な屋根構造について話すときに使われます。日常会話ではあまり使いません。「リッジビーム」とも呼ばれることがあります。
