Definition
Bir şeyi daha küçük, basit veya yalnızca belirli bir şekle ya da duruma indirmek. Ayrıca birini veya bir şeyi kötü ya da temel bir duruma düşürmek anlamına da gelir.

'Reduce to' ifadesi biraz resmidir; matematikte ('reduce to the lowest terms') ve çeşitli durumlarda ('reduced to tears') kullanılır. Genellikle olumsuz bir değişimi ifade eder.
