壊れたり失われたものをもう一度作り直すことや、部品や情報を集めて全体像を作ること。物だけでなく出来事や記憶にも使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

エンジニアリングや科学分野などフォーマルな場面で多く使われ、『reconstructing events』や『reconstructing memories』のように抽象的な使い方も多いです。ただの修理よりも全体を作り直す意味があります。
