Definition
Colocar força ou pressão sobre algo com o corpo ou um objeto, ou ganhar peso corporal. Usado literalmente para pressão física e figurativamente para engordar.

Muito usado em situações médicas e fitness. Literal: "put weight on your pé" (apoiar peso). No sentido de engordar, usa-se também "put on weight". Não confundir com "carry weight" (ter importância).
