Definition

불이나 불빛을 끄다, 누군가를 불편하게 하다, 또는 정보나 상품을 발표하다.

일상적으로 자주 사용하는 표현. 'put out a fire/light'(끄다), 'be put out'(불쾌하다), 'put out a statement/book'(발표하다/출간하다) 등으로 쓴다. 'put off'(미루다)와 혼동하지 않기.

Please put out the candles before you leave.

나가기 전에 촛불을 꼭 **끄세요**.
