ある人が持つ権限や責任、知識が及ぶ範囲や分野のこと。自身の管理や専門内に含まれることを指す。

フォーマルな表現で、法律や行政、ビジネス関連で使われることが多い。'within/outside my purview' は「自分の権限内/外」と訳せる。物理的な範囲ではなく、抽象的な責任や権限について使う。
