パンティングとは、長い棒を使って平底のボートを動かすことを指します。アメリカンフットボールでは、ボールを蹴って相手に渡す行為も表します。

イギリス英語では主にボート遊びを指し、特にオックスフォードやケンブリッジで使われます。アメリカ英語ではフットボールのキックに使われることが多いです。「go punting」「punting on fourth down」などの表現にも注意。
