Definition

身体の中心や付着部位により近い部分を指す言葉です。主に解剖学で使われ、反対は「遠位」です。

主に解剖学や医学の場面で体の部分を説明する際に使用されます。「near」「close」の意味では使いません。「distal」と対に使うことが多いです。

The shoulder is the proximal part of the arm.

肩は腕の**近位**部分です。
