Genellikle yakın arkadaşlar, aile ya da iş arkadaşlarıyla yapılan samimi toplantılarda kullanılır. 'Potluck dinner' veya 'potluck party' ifadeleriyle geçer. Hangi yemeği getireceğinize dair bir kural yoktur.
