"Portents" वे संकेत या चेतावनियाँ हैं जो बताते हैं कि भविष्य में कुछ (विशेषकर कुछ महत्वपूर्ण या खराब) होने वाला है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

"Portents" औपचारिक और आमतौर पर साहित्यिक लेखन में इस्तेमाल होता है। ज्यादा बार बड़े या डरावने घटनाओं ("portents of disaster") की चेतावनी में आता है। यह "omens" जैसा है, लेकिन चेतावनी (warning) की भावना ज्यादा है। आम बोलचाल में दुर्लभ है।
