何かをする準備がしっかり整っていて、すぐに行動に移せる状態。自信や用意が感じられる使い方。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主にフォーマルやニュース、ビジネスの文脈で使う。「poised to」の後は必ず動詞の辞書形が続く。「自信がある」「もうすぐ〜する」というニュアンスを伴う。
