Definition

主に軍隊で使われる、少人数の部隊で通常は中尉が指揮します。時には軍以外の組織化されたチームを指すこともあります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

軍事でよく使われますが、スポーツや学校活動など、組織的なチームにも比喩的に使われることがあります。「squad」や「battalion」とは部隊の規模が異なります。
