'Pinches' 'pinch' का बहुवचन है। इसका मतलब है उंगलियों से हल्का या छोटा सा दबाव, या किसी चीज़ की थोड़ी मात्रा (जैसे नमक)।

अक्सर खाना बनाते समय कम मात्रा के लिए इस्तेमाल ('two pinches of salt') या उंगलियों से हल्का सा दबाना। आम बोलचाल में 'in a pinch' कठिन स्थिति के लिए भी कहते हैं। इसे 'punches' (घूंसे) से न मिलाएँ।
