疲れていたり元気がなかった後に、急に明るくなったり元気が出ること。誰かを活気づけたり興味を持たせる意味でも使う。

主にカジュアルな会話で使われ、気分やエネルギーについて話すとき多い。「coffee makes me perk up」などの表現で使う。人や動物、物事にも使える。
