Definition

একটি দণ্ডল হলো একটি বস্তু যা একটি নির্দিষ্ট পয়েন্ট থেকে ঝুলে এবং নিয়মিতভাবে এদিক-ওদিক দোলে; সাধারণত ঘড়িতে বা বিজ্ঞানের পরীক্ষায় ব্যবহৃত হয়।

'দণ্ডল' ও 'দোলক' সাধারণত বিজ্ঞানের বই, ঘড়ি বা পদার্থবিজ্ঞানের ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'pendulum swings' বা 'the pendulum has swung' এর বাংলা অনুবাদে প্রায়ই রূপকার্থে ব্যবহৃত হয়। দৈনন্দিন কোনো দুলন্ত জিনিসের জন্য এই শব্দগুলো ব্যবহার করা হয় না।
