Definition

雨が屋根や床に優しく当たるような、繰り返しの軽い音。小さな足音などにも使われる。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に雨音や小さな足音など、柔らかくリズミカルな音に使います。「the pattering of rain」「pattering feet」など。うるさい音には使いません。
