指裝在船隻外側的引擎，或指任何位在中心之外、邊緣的物體，常用於指船用引擎。

“Outboard” 通常作形容詞或名詞，指裝在船外的引擎，也可形容任何在外側的東西。不要與 “inboard”（船內）混淆。常見詞組：“outboard motor”、“outboard engine”。
