細いひもや糸などに物が吊るされていたり、つながれている状態を表す言い方です。よく鍵や飾り、写真などに使います。

直訳的で比喩的な意味はありません。「ひもに〜」は人ではなく物に用いられ、実際にぶら下がっている時に使います。
