亡くなった人について新聞やネットに掲載される短い記事やお知らせ。通常、亡くなったことや簡単な経歴が書かれます。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
「obit」は「obituary（お悔やみ記事）」の省略で、くだけた場面や見出しで使われます。正式な文章では「obituary」を使う方が一般的です。葬儀の案内とは区別してください。
