একই নামের দু’জন ব্যক্তি বা কোনো বস্তুকে বোঝায়, বিশেষত যেখানে একজন অন্যজনের নামে নামকরণ করা হয়েছে।

'সমনামী' শব্দটি সাধারণত আনুষ্ঠানিক বা সাহিত্যিক ভাষায় ব্যবহৃত হয়। কাউকে অন্য কারও নামানুসারে নামকরণ করলে এটি বলা হয়, সাধারণভাবে ডাকনামের জন্য নয়।
