"mouth the words" in Japanese

Definition

声を出さずに、口だけで言葉を言うこと。よく、歌や発言をしているふりをするときに使う。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主にカジュアルな場面で使われる。歌の「口パク」や誰かの言葉を黙ってなぞる時に多い。「ささやく」とは違い、声を出さない。言葉を知らない場合にも使われる。
