相手に何かをさせたり注意を引いたりするために、手や頭、体で特定の動きをしたこと。

「motioned」は特定の行動や注意を引くための、静かで目的のある合図に使われます。「gestured」よりも意図がはっきりしています。「〜に合図した」の形でよく使います。
