Definition

モグラが地面を掘る時に土を押し上げてできる小さな山や盛り上がりのこと。また、取るに足らない問題について使われることもある。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

モグラ塚は自然の場面で使われることが多いが、比喩的に「make a mountain out of a molehill」(小さなことを大きく言う) の表現にも使われる。「蟻塚」とは異なるので注意。
