Definition

流産とは、妊娠中に胎児が子宮外で生きられる前に、自然に予期せず妊娠が終わってしまうことです。多くは妊娠初期に起こります。

「流産」は医療用語で、繊細な話題なので会話で使う際は配慮が必要です。「流産を経験する」「繰り返す流産」「流産のリスク」などの表現があります。「中絶」（意図的な妊娠中断）とは違います。
