Definition

ترك شخص معزولاً في مكان صعب أو ناءٍ، غالباً دون أمل في الإنقاذ. تاريخياً أيضاً يشير إلى أشخاص تُركوا في جزر.

Usage Notes (Arabic)

الفعل 'maroon' أسلوبه رسمي أو أدبي وغالباً لا يُستخدم في المحادثات اليومية. شائع في تعبيرات مثل 'marooned on an island' (عالِق في جزيرة). لا تخلطه مع لون 'maroon' (خمري).
