Definition

무언가를 세게 눌러 부수거나 찢거나 비틀어서 심하게 손상시키는 것. 말이나 글을 엉망으로 만들 때도 사용됩니다.

심각하게 손상된 경우에 자주 쓰이며(예: 'mangled car'), 말이나 글을 크게 망친 경우(예: 'mangle a sentence')에도 씁니다. 가벼운 손상에는 사용하지 않습니다.

The machine accidentally mangled his shirt.
