Mover-se de repente e rapidamente para frente para pegar ou alcançar algo.

Normalmente indica um movimento físico repentino e forte em direção a algo, geralmente com intenção ou urgência. Costuma ser seguido por um objeto (ex: 'lunge for the keys'). É informal. Não confunda com 'lunge' sozinho, que pode ser só um passo à frente (exercício).
