अधिकतर, 'little hand' से तात्पर्य एनालॉग घड़ी की छोटी सुई (घंटे की सुई) से होता है। कभी-कभी, यह छोटे हाथ (खासकर बच्चे का) भी मतलब हो सकता है।

'Little hand' आमतौर पर बच्चों को घड़ी पढ़ाना सिखाते समय इस्तेमाल होता है ('the little hand points to...')। छोटे हाथ के लिए उपयोग बहुत सामान्य नहीं है। घड़ी के संदर्भ में 'big hand' के साथ आता है। 'short hand' मत कहें।
