裁判や訴訟に関わる当事者のことです。原告（申立人）や被告（応じる側）の両方を指します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

法的な書類や裁判所で使われる堅い言葉です。原告・被告の両方を「当事者」と呼びます。日常会話ではあまり使われません。
