闪电

Definition

暴风雨中天空中出现的明亮电光。它发生得非常快，而且后面常常会有雷声。

在一般表述中通常作不可数名词：'There was a lot of lightning.' 如果说一次可见的电光，常用 'a flash of lightning'。不要和 'lightening' 混淆，后者表示“使更浅、更亮或更轻”。

We saw lightning in the sky last night.
