Definition

重さが軽いこと、色が明るいこと、あるいは気分や動作が軽やかであることを指します。

『lightness』は物の重さだけでなく、色や気分の軽やかさにも使われます。日常会話ではややフォーマルな表現ですが、『lightness of mood』や『lightness in color』のように比喩的にも使われます。
