Definition
Não castigar alguém ou permitir que alguém evite problemas ou responsabilidades; também pode significar disparar uma arma ou lançar fogo de artifício.

'Let off' é informal e normalmente usado quando alguém não é punido por uma autoridade; comum em 'let off with a warning'. Também se usa para disparar fogos de artifício ou explosivos. Não confundir com 'let out' (libertar), que é diferente.
