はっきり言う率直に伝える

Definition

たとえ言いにくいことでも、正直に率直に伝えること。隠さず本心を言うという意味。

カジュアルな会話で使う表現。「let me」や「I'll」とセットでよく使われます。自慢や大げさに話すのではなく、正直に本音を言うときの言い方です。

Let me lay it on the line: We need to work harder.

**はっきり言うね**：もっと頑張る必要があるよ。

She laid it on the line and told her friend the truth.
