Definition

何かを水で丁寧に洗う、または水がやさしく覆うことを詩的・文学的に表現する言葉。日常会話ではほぼ使用されない表現。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

ごく稀にしか使わない詩的・文学的表現です。日常会話では「洗う」「流す」を使います。「波が岩を洗う」など情景描写に多い言い回しです。
