他の人が気づかないうちに、特に賛成しない場合に、ひそかに面白がること。よく他人のミスや不運を内心で喜ぶときに使う。

イディオムでやや古めの表現。書き言葉では時々見ますが、日常会話ではあまり使いません。ひそかに他人の不幸を面白がるニュアンスがあります。「ひそかに」「こっそり」と一緒に使われます。
