틈이나 장애물, 또는 강을 한 쪽에서 다른 쪽으로 점프해서 건너다.

주로 신체적으로 어떤 장애물의 반대편으로 건너뛸 때 사용된다. 'jump over'처럼 위로 뛰는 것과는 다르게 실제로 건너가는 의미다.
