Inquiry का अर्थ है जानकारी माँगना या किसी मामले की औपचारिक जांच करना।

'Inquiry' 'question' से ज्यादा औपचारिक है। इसका इस्तेमाल बिजनेस, कानून, या अध्ययन से जुड़े मामलों में होता है: 'make an inquiry,' 'inquiry into.' ब्रिटिश अंग्रेज़ी में 'enquiry' भी चलता है, और कभी-कभी अर्थ में थोड़ा फर्क होता है।
