優しさやご褒美として、通常は贅沢や特別なものとされる楽しいものを誰かに与えること。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
主にフォーマルやセミフォーマルで使い、贈り物や食べ物、体験などで使う（'indulge the children with ice cream'）。必要性ではなく、優しさやご褒美としてのニュアンスが強い。'indulge someone with [何か]'の形が多い。自分を甘やかす'indulge in'とは異なるので注意。
