মুলত ব্যবসা, দল বা কর্তৃত্বের প্রসঙ্গে ব্যবহার হয়। 'be in the driving seat' মানে নিয়ন্ত্রণে থাকা, 'put someone in the driving seat' মানে কাউকে নিয়ন্ত্রণে দেয়া। আসল গাড়ি চালানোর অর্থে নয়।
