神像や人物などを神として崇拝すること、または何かや誰かに過度に熱中・執着すること。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
宗教的な文脈で使われることが多いが、比喩的に「有名人崇拝」など極端な熱中を表す場合もある。'idol'（偶像）や'idolize'（崇拝する）と混同しないように。
