ふんふーん（不満や呆れの音）

Definition

不満や呆れ、同意しない気持ちを表すときに出す音。物語や漫画でよく使われる表現です。

実際の会話よりも小説や漫画のセリフでよく使います。「ふむ」（思案）や「はっ」（驚き）とは異なり、不満や呆れのニュアンスになります。

She crossed her arms and said, 'Humph!'

彼女は腕を組んで「**ふん**！」と言った。

When he heard the bad news, he just replied, 'Humph.'
