劇場などで客席部分を照らす照明。開演前や休憩中、終演後などに点けられる。

劇場やホールなど限定の言葉です。「houselights」は家庭の照明ではなく、必ず客席用の照明を指します。「bring up」や「dim」などのフレーズでもよく使われます。
