“Holdups”可以指持械搶劫，也可以指導致事情無法按時發生的意外延誤。

多為口語；作“搶劫”時多見於美式英語，用於“延誤”時美英皆常用，經常用於交通或行程延誤（如“traffic holdups”）。注意不要和動詞片語“hold up”混淆。
