Aferrarse a algo con fuerza, ya sea literalmente sujetándolo con las manos o de manera figurada, sin soltar una idea, sentimiento u objeto.
Usage Notes (Spanish)
Principalmente informal. Se usa tanto para lo físico ("hold on to the rope") como para lo abstracto ("hold on to your dreams"). No confundir con solo "hold"; "hold on to" implica no soltar o querer conservar algo.
