Definition

ロープや機械などを使って重い物を持ち上げたり、吊り上げたりすることを指します。また、そのための機械や装置自体を示すこともあります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に建築や工場などの現場、または「旗を掲げる」など特定の言い回しで用いられます。日常会話ではあまり使われません。「リフト」や「上げる」とは用途が異なります。
