Definition
けがや痛みなどで普通に歩けず、足を引きずりながらゆっくり歩くこと。また比喩的に、物事がうまく進まない様子にも使われる。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
主にけがや病気で足に痛みがあるときの歩き方に使います。比喩的に、経済的な問題などで進まない場合にも使われます（例: 'the company was hobbled by debt'）。'into' や 'out of' などと組み合わせて場所の移動を示すことが多いです。
