貧しくて、街で暮らしたり遊んだりする子供を指す昔の侮蔑的な表現です。今ではほとんど使われません。

この言葉は文学や昔の物語の中でしか登場しません。現代では侮辱的で使いません。現代の「ホームレスの子」や「路上の子」とは別です。
