困難でも粘り強く努力して何かをやり遂げること。野球では内野にゴロを打ってアウトになること。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
主に口語的な表現で、粘り強い努力が必要な場面に使う。野球では過去形 'grounded out' が一般的。'grind out' と混同しがちなので注意。
