本来よりずっと高い価格をつけて商品やサービスを売ること。特に災害や危機の時に利用者を不当に利用すること。

主にビジネスや法律、経済文脈で使われます。「price gouging」は災害や物資不足時の不当値上げです。もともと穴をあける意味もあるので区別に注意。
